A note about your comment on the posted picture (post/28848397316/were-commemorating-the-war-of-1812-bicentennial) The USS Constitution is the world's oldest commissioned ship STILL AFLOAT. HMS Victory (launched 1765) is the world's oldest warship still in commission, though she is laid up in drydock.
Thank you for clarifying! I have corrected it on the post. As a big fan of Patrick O’Brien, I would like my nautical references to be accurate!
