This Chemawa Indian School athlete was photographed in 1971 (ARC 5585775). The original caption reads:”Chemawa’s Athletes Rank at the Top in Track and Field Event.”
The Chemawa Indian School opened in 1880 in Salem, Oregon. It remains open as a boarding school today and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
